SketchUp Mastery Foundations: Part One

This introductory SketchUp course is perfect for someone brand new to the 3D modeling software or someone looking to brush up on the foundation principles. We’re digging into all the basics for drawing, editing, and navigating the program.

SketchUp Mastery Foundations: Part Two

This is a continuation of the the core foundation of knowledge needed to master this 3D modeling software. We’re diving deeper into using and creating materials, organizing your model with tags (layers), understanding groups vs components, and presenting your model creations with scenes and section cuts.

SketchUp Mastery Foundations: Part Three

This is the final installment of the the core foundation of knowledge needed to master this 3D modeling software. We’ll be looking into using shadows along with selecting and creating styles. I’m also giving you some of my favorite tips like customizing your keyboard shortcuts, pasting elements in different ways, and best practices for reducing the size of your SketchUp models while improving performance.

Building Custom Material & Component Libraries in SketchUp

In this class, I’ll help you get started on building your own custom libraries so you always have a collection of resources to pull from whenever you need them. The best part is you don’t have to start out with a massive amount of content to get you started. This is something you can easily build on as you go. And before you know it you’ll have your very own stash of thousands of materials and components to quickly pull from over and over again.

Guest Bathroom: From Plan Sketch to SketchUp Model

In this class, we’ll be starting with some as-built measurements, sketches, and floor plan of a small guest bathroom. We’ll learn how to take that information along with client feedback and turn it into a floor plan in SketchUp. Then we’ll turn that into a 3D model of the space.

Guest Bathroom: Creating a 3D Mood Board for Reno Design

In this class, we’ll take the as-built model of our guest bathroom from the previous class and start working on a renovation design. We’ll research inspiration for interior design sample / mood boards. Then we’ll take our new finishes and design selections for the space and create 3D mood board inside SketchUp. This is where we’ll start creating custom materials and elements for our bathroom renovation design.

Guest Bathroom: Complete Renovation Model

In this class, we’ll take the as-built model of our guest bathroom and the mood board with custom selections from the previous classes to pull it all together. We’ll work on applying new materials and adding new components to create a brand new complete renovation model of the space.
