I am a designer and SketchUp trainer who works with other designers, decorators, and design enthusiasts by providing insights, behind the scenes secrets, and time-saving techniques for designing, modeling, and documenting with SketchUp.
My goal is to help others save themselves the time and frustration of figuring out this software on their own by sharing the systems and shortcuts I’ve developed through my years of experience in the field of interior and home design.
Hey There!
I’m Victoria Wilson and I’m a designer. I’ve built up my business, Calypso Design Studio, as a way to do what I love.
My biggest passion in design is building homes and interior spaces in SketchUp, drafting plans in AutoCAD, and teaching these skills to both fellow designers and design students.
It’s pretty safe to say that most people these days are very visual. We live in a very visual world right now. Which is why 3d modeling truly is one of the most helpful tools a designer can use to get their point across to their clients. A designer may easily understand the line drawings of a floor plan or an elevation of a wall of kitchen cabinets. However, most clients are going to understand a 3-dimensional representation better.
Showing a client a flat line drawing of a wall of new kitchen cabinets is not going to have the same impact as visually placing your client in the room before it’s even built. It’s easiy to visualize what their new kitchen will be like if they can “stand” in front of their new kitchen sink and have a look around.
This is where I come in… I want to help you skip that big learning curve that comes along with figuring out a new piece software. Skip the trial and error and learn from mine instead. Learn my carefully developed system to help speed up your process and get to that client presentation faster.
Work smarter not harder. Building your own custom material and component libraries to use in SketchUp makes your 3D modeling projects develop faster, easier, and more efficient.
In this class, I'll help you get started on building your own custom libraries so you always have a collection of resources to pull from whenever you need them. The best part is you don't have to start out with a massive amount of content to get you started. This is something you can easily build on as you go. And before you know it you'll have your very own stash of thousands of materials and components to quickly pull from over and over again. [Read More…]
